Nigerians have been advised to stop exposing the military and other security institutions to public ridicule.
A group, Citizens’ Ini¬tiative for Security Awareness (CISA) made the call against the backdrop of the arrest and detention of some top serving and retired military officers in connection with the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal.
The group also frowned at what it described as media trial of top military officers, serving or retired, saying it is an ill-wind that will blow nobody any good.
In a terse statement issued yesterday in Abuja by its head, publicity and mobilization, Aliyu Dogo, CISA noted that as at now, no military offi¬cer has been convicted by a competent court of law for corruption.
