The senator representing Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani yesterday said that the abducted Chibok Girls are alive contrary to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s earlier statement on the fate of the girls.
Senator Sani had facilitated the meeting of Obasanjo with the family of slain Boko Haram leader, Muhammed Yusuf in 2011. Sani who spoke with our correspondent in Kaduna, expressed confidence in the capacity of President Muhammadu Buhari to bring back the girls alive.
He said, “I believe that the Chibok girls are alive and they can be found alive.
“As far as I am concern, we should continue to explore the dialogue option for getting the Chibok girls out.
“Dialogue should continue not for anything but for getting the Chibok girls out of captivity,” he said.
He believed that “the insurgents group would have come openly to declare that they have killed them.”
“But, they are alive and I believe they are alive. I believe that the Chibok Girls would come back home some day,” he said.
