As the leadership feud currently rocking the Assemblies of God Church continues, the leaders have risen to sue for peace, saying such agitations were unbecoming in the house of God.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the unity of the Church has been threatened by agitations launched by some members, who called for reforms, especially the decentralization of the Church’s activities.
The Church, according some members has been under heavy control by the headquarters, forcing agitators to crave for some of the powers to be transferred to the zones for administrative convenience.
But the General Superintendent, Rev. Chidi Okoroafor, condemned such agitation and admonished members to remain under one united entity, even as he described calls for reforms as “canal”.
“The Church belongs to God, not man. Those calling for the decentralization of the Church are canal-minded and they are not led by the spirit of God”, he stressed.
Addressing members of the Ikot Ekpene District Headquarters, as part of his pastoral visit, the Superintendent pointed out that “any Church founded on the principle of man and not of God, would not stand”.
