A 30-year-old woman, Mrs Patience Ekukpe, was allegedly murdered by her husband over matrimonial dispute.
The husband, Mr Ekukpe Henry, allegedly used a sharp cutlass to cut his wife severally on the face, arms and chest and abandoned her to bleed to death.
The enraged husband killed his wife before their child who allegedly screamed helplessly as the evil act lasted.
In an interaction with journalists, the Spokesman of Edo State Police Command, DSP Osifo Abiodun, said operatives of Egba Police Station had visited the scene of the crime as efforts to apprehend the fleeing killer-husband continues.
Meanwhile, a 36-years-old man, Felix Omokhoa, was at the weekend arraigned before the Ekpoma Magistrate Court for the murder of his neighbour over electricity charge.
Felix allegedly murdered one Richard Ikekhua on January 16, 2016 in Ukpoke-Uhiele, Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area by hitting a piece of cement block on the deceased’s forehead during a fight thereby resulting in his instant death.
According to police investigation, the accused and the deceased who were co-tenants had a quarrel over the deceased’s refusal to pay his share of reconnection fee.
Following his refusal, the accused with other neighbours resolved to disconnect the deceased’s apartment.
This infuriated the deceased who consequently reported the case to the electricity company since the reconnection was illegally procured and also incidental case against the accused at the police station.
The electricity company disconnected the entire house while the police arrested the accused, but eventually settled the matter between them with a stern warning on the accused not ferment any further trouble.
But when the duo returned home, another quarrel ensued resulting in a fight during which the accused hauled a piece of cement block at the deceased’s forehead, killing him instantly.
