Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari would not waver in his commitment to accord top priority to issues affecting welfare of women and children, commissioner for Women Affairs, Badiya Hassan Mashi has said.
Speaking when she paid familiarisation visits to the state owned Family Support Programme Primary school and the popular Women Multi-purpose Centre, Mashi said issues bothering on women would be brought to the front burner.
She said the visit was to afford her opportunity to make an assesment of departments and centres under the ministry “in line with an over aching drive to reposition the centres for effective service delivery”.
The commissioner said the current state government was conscious of the support and contribution of women and youths in the enthronement of the current change hence the decision to accord top most priority to issues affecting them.
Mashi who was in company of senior officials of the ministry pledged to address all the challenges observed in Family Support Centres in both Katsina and Daura even as she assured prompt intervention to addressing challenges bedevilling Katsina Multi-purpose women centre.
She pledged government’s commitment to repositioning the centre for effective service delivery.
Our correspondent reports that the tour is the maiden official outing of the commissioner who was recently sworn in as commissioner and member of Katsina State Executive Council.
