The chairman of Bida local government area of Niger State, Muhammed Bagudu-Sadiq has pledged to place high premium on youths empowerment programmes.
Bagudu-Sadiq stated this during the swearing in of the council’s vice chairman, secretary and 14 elected councillors at the council’s secretariat in Bida.
The chairman explained that he would explore practical ways to provide gainful employments for youths in the area, adding that “we will do everything humanly possible to pursue all necessary agenda that is geared at empowering the youth.”
He noted that youths are the hope and future of the nation, saying he would do his best to secure their future because the success of any government is hinged on human empowerment.
He said healthcare, agriculture, education, water supply as well as infrastructural development would also receive adequate attention.
He,therefore, solicited for the cooperation of politicians, businessmen and women, students and public workers as well as the general public in the area, stressing that his administration would ensure an all inclusive government in order to achieve the desired result.
While urging youths to shun violence , Bagudu-Sadiq also charged all public servants in the local government to continue to exhibit high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties, so as to assist in enhancing the overall development of the area, state and the country at large.
